STONEHILL & TAYLOR ARCHITECTS, P.C.
Design Studio
New York, NY
Stonehill & Taylor's expansive studio is designed to preserve and celebrate its ca. 1900 segmental floor, arch loft with undulating 13-foot ceiling vaults. Treated as an open loft space with four conference rooms, three private offices and open studio floor for 60, it facilitates interaction among the team members. Designed by owner, Paul Taylor AIA, the space features sliding barn doors, allowing the main conference room and reception to open to the studio space for special meetings and social events. The primary lighting concept involves uplighting, which features the existing vaulted ceilings while providing an efficient low glare ambient lighting solution. The studio is outfitted with In Vivo workstations by Herman Miller, providing flexibility in seating options with the ability to reconfigure set-up when necessary. |
