Stonehill & Taylor fitted out the bare shell of a 39,000 s.f. office building to create a new headquarters for S.I. Bank & Trust. The rapidly growing bank, the leading institution of its kind on Staten Island, had occupied numerous buildings in various locations scattered over a wide area. Stonehill & Taylor carefully analyzed the Bank's operations and its portfolio of properties, and developed a master plan for consolidating operations and improving efficiency by developing new properties, redeveloping existing ones, and closing others.

The new headquarters interior, winner of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce's Award of Excellence, is finished using limited quantities of warm, rich materials like granite and mahogany. By utilizing these materials only at the most prominent locations in the space, the effect of luxury is achieved at minimum cost. Stonehill & Taylor created a design that met the bank's need for individual presence and separate access for each of several departments by carefully coordinating with the building's developer and his core & shell architect to fast-track the relocation of key elements of the building entrance, core, and basic infrastructure.
