THE BILTMORE BOWL BALLROOM

Stonehill & Taylor transformed the 10,000 square foot Biltmore Bowl Ballroom, destroyed by fire in the 1950's, returning it to five-star luxury standard. A new elevator has been incorporated into the historic fabric of the building, linking the South Galeria public areas. Offering state-of-the-art multimedia and audio-visual technology and lighting, the Bowl now supports a variety of business and formal functions. The new construction draws on the architectural and decorative vocabulary of the Spanish baroque and Italianate detailing throughout the hotel which reflects the area's heritage, and reintegrates the Bowl into the aesthetic composition of the hotel. Custom architectural elements, lighting fixtures, carpeting, and opulent fabrics in rich colors, textures and patterns, recall the grandeur of the original ballroom in this historic downtown landmark.
